Why do we restock?

You restock supplies to make sure that your fellow baristas can stay customer focused and don’t need to leave their stations because something runs out.

Types of Stock

1.Station Stock -ingredients and supplies at stations (Espresso, CBS, Warming etc) for up to two hours worth of work.

  1. Front of House Stock -enough ingredients and supplies to replenish the Station Stock when needed.
  2. Back of House Stock – the remaining ingredients and supplies.

How do I restock? When you run out of Station Stock, the Customer Support barista will then replenish that stock from the Front of House Stock.

Restocking in Practice

Let’s say the Hazelnut Syrup runs out by the Espresso bar.
The Bar barista will replace it with another bottle of Hazelnut from the Front of House Stock,which is usually kept in a cupboard located by the syrups.
The Customer Support barista will then replace the syrup bottle in the Front Stock using stock that is kept inthe back of the store. Let’s say the Hazelnut Syrup runs out by the Espresso bar.
The Bar barista will replace it with another bottle of Hazelnut from the Front of House Stock,which is usually kept in a cupboard located by the syrups.
The Customer Support barista will then replace the syrup bottle in the Front Stock using stock that is kept inthe back of the store.
